We're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2022 Honda CR-V Now, the Swagman XC 2 is actually really popular with the CR-V owners because it's gonna be the quickest and most affordable way to get into the platform rack space. So if you have a two inch or inch and a quarter hitch receiver on your CR-V, and you want something that has a bit more stability than a hanging rack but isn't that pricey, that's where the XC 2 comes in handy. So it does a decent job at making sure your bike is steady as you drive around. It's not swinging around, but it also has its downsides like its very limited features. So that comes in so be mindful. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda CR-V- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 bike platform rack. We're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2022 Honda CR-V. So right off the bat, you're gonna need a hitch receiver on your CR-V, a two inch hitch receiver if you wanna carry this bike rack. This is gonna be a two plus two rack, so you can quickly remove this extension if you wanna convert it back to a two bike rack or add the extension if you wanted to turn it into a four bike platform rack. It is on the heavier side. I would recommend having a friend help you out with installing it. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda CR-V- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Kuat Transfer V2 three-bike platform rack, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Honda CR-V. So the Transfer is unique because you can carry around multiple bikes, but it still has this open space in the middle to make it easier to load those bikes up. And if you have it folded up against the CR-V, you still have a lot of visibility in the back. So focusing on this bike rack with this car, first, we're going to tilt it away. So if you needed to open up your hatch and grab whatever you needed, what I do is I put the arms up to the side that way it can step into that goal post design, and then it's easier to hit that lever to bring the rack down. Unfortunately though, because the Transfer doesn't tilt down that much, if you did want to open up the hatch fully on the CR-V, we are not able to do so. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Honda CR-V- Video
Hey, everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt on our 2021 Honda CR-V. Now, as far as hanging-style bike racks are concerned, the FullTilt is actually one of my personal favorite options, and that's because of all the features they're able to pack inside of it that we're gonna be able to take a look at as the video goes on. But, the first thing we wanna make sure we know is what kind of bikes can we carry. Well, the FullTilt's main point of contact is going to be on our frame, so that means, unfortunately, our carbon frame bikes are not going to be an option for this. If you do have an alternative frame bike, though, and do get a bike adapter bar, we are able to accommodate for those, as well as kids' bikes. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Honda Odyssey- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro XTR and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Honda Odyssey. This is gonna be a platform-style bike rack capable of carrying up to two bikes, it's gonna hold the bikes by the front tire using this wheel hook. You can see that the wheel hook is on either side and alternating directions, and because it holds the bike by the tire and not the frame, it's gonna be a great option for carbon frame bikes and alternative frame bikes. With a 60 pound weight capacity, excuse me, per bike, it's gonna be able to handle some e-bikes too. And not to mention, out of the box, this is ready to work with fat tire bikes and kids' bikes as well, so really, a wide range, really anything you could imagine. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda Odyssey- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Swagman Skaha 2 bike rack, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Honda Odyssey. So the Swagman Skaha is a good rack if you have those heavy electric bikes, and with the Odyssey, I recommend getting the separate ramp and bridge attachment. There is a good amount of ground clearance with this vehicle, so it's hard to lift those bikes high up and into the hitch receiver or hitch-mounted bike rack, but the ramp and bridge actually works really well with this rack, and I would recommend checking that out if you have a heavy electric bike, but this also has some other features, like it tilts away and you have a front wheel mount, which makes it easier to load those bikes up. So the first feature we'll take a look at is that tilt away feature. There is this bright green lever here in the back. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have a Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Honda CR-V. So, the Kuat Sherpa is a great middle of the road bike rack. I highly recommend it for people that just have a normal bike, and they wanna carry it around quickly and easily. It does have some downsides, like, it doesn't have a super great weight capacity for extra heavy electric bikes, but it does have some fun features, like this tilt away. So, if you pull this lever down here, (rack clicks) and you just let the bike rack drop down to a tilt, you will be able to open up your hatch. more

So for this SuperClamp, it's a versatile bike rack and also very compact. You can carry your heavy electric bikes, but you also fold it up really easily, so it's easy to store, both on your vehicle and in your garage. Here with the CR-V, it does work pretty well with the vehicle, although there are some things I would consider, because it is a bit of a hassle to get your bikes on there. Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the RockyMounts AfterParty swing-away bike rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Honda CR-V. So the RockyMounts AfterParty is very similar to the RockyMounts GuideRail where you have a dual wheel mount bike rack. The thing that's special, though, with the AfterParty is it swings away, and that gives you full access to the back of your vehicle if you want to set up a campsite, open up the hatch, things like that. Now, with the CR-V, I personally would actually recommend just sticking with the RockyMounts GuideRail, and that's just because you can still tilt away both bike racks. So if you don't need that full hatch clearance, you'll still be able to open up your hatch with the bikes rack, bikes on without having to swing the entire bike rack away. more

So with this bike rack, you have a very lightweight, compact two bike platform rack. It is an affordable rack, so if you want the stability of a platform rack but at the price of what you would usually see for a hanging rack, this is what I would go with. There's some aspects of it that I really like but there's some downsides as well like how it has a limited weight capacity to 35 pounds per bike and this bike rack does not tilt away. So if you need to access your hatch, you are gonna have to take the bike off. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Honda CR-V. This is going to be designed for e-bikes in mind which you can see we have loaded up here. It's got a weight rating of 66 pounds per bike but this is also rated for use on your fifth wheel flat tow motor home and travel trailers. So if you wanna use it for any of those purposes you can but if you choose to use this off-road that weight rating's gonna drop down to 40 pounds per bike. So be careful of that. more

How's it going, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Current hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Honda CR-V. The Current is designed specifically for e-bikes, so it is a platform-style rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds apiece. It's gonna hold onto our bike primarily with the center mast frame clamp here or hook and two additional straps, one on the front, one on the back tire. So it does make contact with your frame, and it does so in a pulling-down fashion. So if you wanna use this with your carbon frame bikes, recommend against that cuz it could potentially damage your frame while it's driving. more

How's it going, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Right now we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Honda CR-V. This is going to be a two-bike platform style rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds. It's gonna hold on to our bikes with this dual wheel mount design, so one hoop on the back, one hoop on the front tire, which is nice if you want to accommodate different wheel bases and make sure that your bikes aren't making contact with one another while you're driving. Also, because there's no frame contact, you can get your carbon frame bikes on here, alternative frame bikes, and you can get some e-bikes on here as long as they have less than a three-inch or less tire width. So this does have a lot of cool features and things that we're gonna check out, but the first one is going to be the fact that we do have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded up. more

So the Curt Premium is one of my favorite racks when it comes to how many bikes it can carry without being so difficult. With hanging racks it's really tough to get different frames up on there, but this has a unique design where it's more narrow towards the front, making it easier for those mountain bikes or those smaller bikes. The StageTwo is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays, and primarily, by our front wheel up here. It's gonna mean zero frame contact, make it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and with a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, good for our e-bikes too and even some of the heavier ones. 60 pounds tends to be the standard for a lot of e-bike racks, so it's great to see when one goes a little bit above and beyond for those heavier bikes. Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Curt Premium four bike rack on our 2022 Honda CR-V. Now the Curt Premium is a hanging style rack which means the bike hangs by the frame. We've got two straps over the frame at the top here keeping it down in the cradles. And the third one on the seat post, the seat post strap is gonna limit that side to side movement. It's still there, but it does help limit it and reduce bike to bike contact or in some cases even bike to vehicle contact. You can see our front tire doesn't really wanna sit still right here so I might consider adding a cam buckle strap from the tire to the frame just to keep it still. more

So you just pull that big old blue lever down there, tilt that bike rack down, and even though your bikes are on, you can see how we have plenty of space between our hatch door, our pedals and our handlebars. more
